ABU DHABI, 9th March, 2023 (WAM) -- Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received on Wednesday Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of Malta to the UAE, Aminath Shabeena, Ambassador of the Maldives to the UAE, and Marie Ndjeka Opombo, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the UAE.
During their meeting, Sheikh Nahyan and the ambassadors discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in all areas, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Nahyan stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to enhance its cooperation with friendly countries, due to its belief in the values of tolerance, peace, coexistence and human solidarity.
He also noted that the UAE will host COP28 in late 2023 at Expo City Dubai, to support the global efforts aimed at addressing the effects of climate change and achieving sustainable economic growth and humanity prosperity.
The ambassadors highlighted their countries' keenness to strengthen their cooperation with the UAE in all areas, and extended their best wishes to the UAE's leadership, government and people.
They also congratulated H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), the "Mother of the Nation," on the occasion of International Women's Day.
